Will the brace take away my pain?
Ankle braces are designed to help stabilise and support your ankle, to limit unwanted movement to help with the healing process. It will not necessarily take away your pain, but it should relieve it. The brace should improve your function and mobility.
Is the ankle brace going to weaken my muscles?
Other than a rigid brace like a moonboot or rigid ankle device, a brace WILL NOT weaken your ankle. The brace should allow you to move more freely which should reduce compensation and allow for a more natural muscle function. The brace should however only be used as required and not long term unless prescribed. We recommend that you see a physiotherapist once your doctor give you the go ahead
How long will I need to wear the brace for?
This will all be depended on the rehabilitation plan set out by the Dr. and Physiotherapist.
